Last Surviving Member of the Mitchell Street Family Dies in Late November

I'm not sure how many of you are interested in the history of our neighborhood, but I couldn't help notice in late November that Eugenia Mitchell passed away. She was 97 and the last surviving member of the Mitchell family who settled in Belle Sherman on what is now known as Mitchell Street. In 1802, James Mitchell brought his extended family from New Jersey, settling near Cornell and Mitchell Streets. The original Mitchell Street farmhouse still stands today and is very well taken care of.
